73rd – Friendship

The Lord gave me more than my fair share of loving friends. A smorgasbord of short, tall, young, old, friendly, shy, playful, and serious friends. Friends from other states and countries. Friends for all occasions. The common thread is encouragement, emotional support, laughter, tears and lots of prayers. We are woven together heart-to-heart as God decided long ago we would be friends. Be a friend today. Someone is looking for a friend just like you.

Scripture: Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Romans 12:15 ESV

Prayer: Father God, I am grateful for the friends you gave me. I am eager to meet others when the time is right for our paths to cross. We have much to share and learn from each other. Bless the friendly men and women scattered around this world. Send us out to share your love and kindness. We desire to be witnesses for you in all we say and do. Amen.

16 – Blessed with friends

When I moved to my new state six years ago, I had no friends here. Today I ran out of fingers and toes trying to count them all. We are all different personalities, faiths, and from different states. Friends are all around you. Some you haven’t met yet are also looking for a friend like you. Be a friend today. Check on someone to say you’re thinking of them. Ask if there is anything you can pray for or do for them. Let them know they can call on you when needed. Just show up, and let God love through you.

Scripture: I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, Philippians 1:3-4 ESV

Prayer: Lord, you knew how much we needed friends in our lives and in your time, you gave them to us. We truly believe it was you who picked each one and allowed our paths to intersect at this time in our lives. Help each of us to be a good friend. Thank you so much for thinking of us and providing just what we need. You do it everyday! Amen.
